Another candle... or 2!

I made this one tonight for my cousin's 40th birthday. :) She's not a blog-hopper so it won't ruin the surprise!

And I made this one just to try out some new stamps my friend Erika sent me. :) She's so sweet, thanks Erika!

Candles!

So I've been trying a few different things lately and I thought candles would be a fun project. I'm doing a little mini-class on them for an online crop in a few weeks, so I made a few examples up ahead of time.

This one is a 'Sweet Bamboo' green pillar candle (Michael's for $2.49 I think?) and I used the American Craft Majestic stamp set and added some ribbon and brads for decoration as well. I love how it turned out!

And then there's the simple tree stamp... and some ribbon and brads to hold on the ribbon so it doesn't slip. (I think the stamp is from Inkadinkadoo?)

Cards for a swap!

So I've been working on some cards tonight and last night...

Colored stamp image with my copic markers... I'm getting there, but I'm not a pro at shading and stuff with them by all means!

And then there's this one... I tried something new! An oragami flower using my scalloped circle Nestabilities by Spellbinders. I saw a tutorial on youtube that I just happened to stumble upon one day when I was looking up a few different ways to use my little nesties... here it is if you'd like to check it out! Its pretty easy, but I found that its MUCH easier if after you fold it in half you cut it in half at that point. It makes the folds less bulky and easier to deal with!

A little late!

So I made these about a week or so ago(its been a week and 3 days exactly, ha!) when I was trying out some copic markers.

I stamped with brown Staz-on and heat set it so it wouldn't run (I've read a lot about copics lately and I've heard it can run with Staz-on ink). Then I shaded a little with the markers and cut them out and added some glitter/stickles.
I probably wouldn't glitter/stickle them as much next time, but I think they are pretty! (They are even prettier in person... the photos don't really do them justice!)

I got the idea from Jennifer McGuire's video about quick coloring with copics... and I just recently purchased those butterfly stamps when Hero Arts released them, so it was meant to be! When I was looking for some information on them her site came up with this video entry and its a great easy way to see how they work kinda. :) She prefaces the video saying she's not a pro with them, but I think she does a great job!

Hello Kitty! :)

Sooooooooo... Mikaela ADORES Hello Kitty. I was scouting online one day for some Hello Kitty stuff to make hair things with and I found some awesome items and I'm making her (and my niece Katie - for her b-day!) a bunch of HK themed hair things. She's been asking me to make her some new bows forever, so here goes!
This is one I squeezed in last night while I was finishing up a few bow orders:

Think she'll love it? I hope so! :)

Empty basket?

Really quick post... after uploading the pictures from this morning I walked into the living room and went to grab the basket I had left on the couch.
This basket usually houses a bunch of small/baby-sized toys for the little girl I babysit. The kids emptied it the other day and put it in a different basket, so I need to find a home for this one... or did someone else find a home in it????

Gooey breakfast!

Today I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast

and homemade cream cheese frosting...

Mikaela was the "official" taste tester...

Jonah liked them too!

Its definitely a Saturday morning... we're just getting out of pajamas now, at noon. :)
Have a happy weekend!

Layouts!

These are layouts I've done in the past couple months here... need to do some catch up! I don't have pictures of everything I've done either, this is just a sampling. :)

This was for a flower challenge... think I had enough flowers?? :)

And one of my favorites... its a pretty simple layout, but I love it!
Photobucket

And one more... and I'm done flooding everyone with pictures. :)

Okay! WHEW! Now on to cards and other stuff? haha. I'll give it a rest for today. :) Thanks for looking!

Edited to add: I officially DISLIKE photobucket. I resized and cropped all of these pictures and some of them aren't showing up correctly. My apologies! Not much else I can do other than scream at the computer screen... and thats not working right now either! :)

A new year -- a new post, finally!

Its been a long time and I'm going to try to start keeping up and posting some of my stuff! :)

Since my last post my little bow business has taken off pretty well... I've been steady but not too many orders at a time. Perfect for me!

Also --- my craft space has moved to the 'dungeon'. I'm in the basement because there's more room. My sweet husband put up a bunch of great shelves. They are really just the triangular brackets used for closets and have the hook for a rod for hanging clothes to go across... but I put a wooden dowel across and have all of my ribbon on it! Also - the shelves themselves are really cheap because they are remnant counter tops cut down. Menards sold them for $1.79 each! What a steal! My shelving didn't cost an arm and a leg... and while it may not look really pretty, its very functional!
Here's my space now:

There's more 'stuff' to each side --- I can't get everything in the picture, but you get the idea. :) I'm boxed in when I'm sitting down, but its perfect for me!

I have a whole bunch of layouts that are in my photobucket account that I will post in a seperate post. I haven't scrapped a ton lately and I need to get crackin'!
